Information Overload or Overdose? Teens are receiving too much infomration early in their lives, which leads to the teen who "knows it all." Native cultures kept healthy secrets form their youth in order to keep them curious about the adult world. As modern teens get inundated with information and early-life experiences, their curiosity for growth diminishes.

Boys in Crisis?? What do you mean boys in America are in crisis? Perhaps this is because American teen boys are five times as likely to be murdered as ALL of European boys combined, because we incarcerate more boys than any other country, because nearly one million adolescents between 12 and 19 are victims of violent crimes each year, or that teens are twice as likely to be assaulted as 20-year-olds.

Cause and Effect in the Teen World The land of adolescence is governed by the laws of Cause and Effect, as is the rest of the universe. Like anyone else in denial, teens have a magical form of thinking that seems, they hope, to make them immune to this most basic of laws.

Why “Just Say No’ Just Hasn’t Worked—Trying to Control the Uncontrollable Ponder this: the US has spent more than $250 billion dollars in the past 20 years on drug prevention. In the past few years, I’ve yet to find one person who works with kids who thinks things are getting any better after such a hefty investment of tax dollars.

School Gets an F Millions of American youth will soon return to public school. And once again, we have to ask why this most prosperous of nations continues to drive an antiquated educational model when there are so many other successful models to choose from.
