Jeffery J. Smith has been published in the academic and popular press, in The New York Times and in The Sustainability Review ("Plugging the Leaks in Local Economies"), and others. He edits The Progress Report. His nonprofit organization, the Forum on Geonomics, publishes a newsletter, The Geonomist, which won a Californian GreenLight Award. He has testified before the Russian Duma on geonomics. His group has initiated bills in the Oregon legislature to recover greater amounts of socially-generated rents in lieu of taxes on production. He lives in the Pacific Northwest and is a member of Mensa.
