Having lived through high points in the last few decades (the Kennedy administration marked the end of childhood for me) and low ones (Nixon, Reagan, Bush, W), the Dr_'s social perspective is simple: as far as possible, protect children, the elderly, and the environment.
It takes all cultures to contribute to the salad bowl that is America, and relationships should be founded on mutual respect (you may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one).
