Patrick Walker is co-founder of Revolt Against Plutocracy (RAP) and the Bernie or Bust movement it spawned. Before that, he cut his activist teeth with the anti-fracking and Occupy Scranton PA movements.
No longer with RAP, he wields his pen and his activist network to wage holy war for climate justice. Hoping to help build a counterculture of revolt, he also writes quirky, highly literate song lyrics for the rising indie band God's Comics.
A happily married man for over 10 years, Patrick has lost his beloved wife Ginger to colon cancer. He resides with his ineffably charming Sheltie dog Jasmine in East Amherst, NY.

I'm submitting this as an important contribution to the passionate debate here at OEN on the merits of lesser-evil (LOTE) voting. With leftist and Green credentials as good as anybody's, retired math professor and "full-time political activist and radical educator" (quoted from his Greanville Post bio), Eric Schechter calmly lays out a solid, well-argued case for Greens voting for Biden in swing states. This case should be even more credible based on its source publication: The Greanville Post is one of very few U.S. (nonspecialist) publications where numerous contributors self-identify as Marxists/communists. No Dembots here!

Every serious, principled progressive knows we have not had a real resistance movement against Trump--meaning an organized resistance to the corrupt political system vomited up Trump as U.S. president. Instead we've only a p*ssy-hatted "McResistance" sponsored by warmongering corporate Democrats and their well-heeled donors: a "resistance" utterly unwilling to tackle meaningful issues.Astute progressives have begun to see the Poor People's Campaign's potential as the long-overdue resistance movement--provided it's truly faithful to fighting Dr. King's "triple evils" of poverty, racism, and militarism as well as the added evil of ecological degradation. This Black Agenda Report piece recognizes the PPC's potential while boldly criticizing the very real weaknesses that could destroy that potential.

This article, by an activist and journalist colleague of mine, makes a compelling case for launching a peaceful 21st century replay of the American Revolution. Among other things, it supplies, through lists of justifications supported by thorough documenting links, a forceful argument that our broken political process can no longer cure the grave maladies ailing our lost republic, and that it's time to start using the "R word." I proudly share this timely article with OEN readers.
