The results of the elections to Legislative Councils in country's States are still to be announced.

There are 3 survivors in critical condition from DMJ972 flight with intended route from Havana, the capital, to Holguin, in the East of Cuba. Although it was a domestic Cuban flight, the plane was rented and the crew was Mexican. In total there were 104 passengers and 9 crew members. Right after taking off the plane had taken a brush turn to the right, and there is no more technical information on the event at this moment.

A comprehensive recount of one of the greatest events of post-WWII History in the West with a classist analysis of all of the involved. A precise chronology of the events, memories, testimonies, all fit into a single article that is a Master Class in History.

Back in the 50s the homosexuals were accused in the USA of being "communist agents". Well, back in the Soviet Union they were accused of being "imperialist agents". As it turns out, the USSR was the second State in the History of Humanity in de-criminalizing homosexuality in 1922 - the first one was the Revolutionary France of 1789. The article reviews the path back to criminalization and homophobia.
(6 comments) Wednesday, May 2, 2018 The 10 most common lies about alleged health incidents affecting U.S. diplomats in CubaSHARE
Just another "fake news" story for justification of another "regime change" operation. In Washington and Miami they apparently consider that flights and cruise ships arriving to Cuba is something that went kinda out-of-control, so they tighten up the blockade ("embargo") and put pressure on family relations (Cubans wishing to travel to the USA now have to request visas in Georgetown, Guyana) in desperate attempt to provoke some trouble in Cuba like they just did in Nicaragua and like they're doing constantly in Venezuela. But don't fall for lies.

To tell the
truth, I hesitated to link this post: on one hand it lays the chronology of the
events and explains honestly the conditions the Revolution faced, but on the
other, it shows an ideological bias (socialist and anti-Stalinist one) perhaps
more than other posts from this site analyzing situation in different countries
or episodes from History. I can't assure that all the information is 100%
accurate: Russian and former Soviet sources offer different versions of the
relationship between PDPA's Khalq faction and the Soviet Union. What is hardly
in discussion is the origin of the so-called "Muslim" Fundamentalism
in West's dealing trying to topple the "pro-Soviet" regime. The post
is certainly valid as food for thought.

There was ONE BEFORE
the 1983 one, as it turns out, can you believe it? What was the business of
South Korean dictators' of that time sending the passenger aircraft of their
flag airline over the Soviet territory to be shot down once and again? What
were they thinking in 1983 after THIS? Who was actually behind it all?! Is this
another one of big-time Cold War mysteries yet-to-be-revealed?

It just doesn't stop. When Daniel Ortega got re-elected with more than 70% of the votes in 2016 (the elections took place 2 days before American elections which gave Trump his victory), the Somozist opposition cried fraud (without presenting any evidence, as usual) and called Ileana Ros-Lehtinen who cooked up the so-called Nica Act which she dragged through the US House of Representatives. Now the Govt is facing the difficult task to reform the Social Security Institute and system. The private interest groups, however, decided to use it for violence and subversion following the Venezuelan-Syrian-Libyan scenario.

...the West doesn't (want to) understand the very contradiction between "democracy" and national interests in ANY country. "National Security" of any other country is seen as "dictatorship", "democracy" is conceived only as a Govt with pro-Western traitors in power. And worse when - as it happens in this case - when people in the "other" country finally understand it and vote willingly for "dictatorship". It's exhibited as "fraud", etc. in the Western "presstitutes" as Paul Craig Roberts defines them.

There goes one of Trump's friends. PPK survived an impeachment motion last December after making a deal with the party run by Fujimori's kids: they voted to keep him in power while he signed Presidential Pardon to Alberto Fujimori, Psdt and dictator of Peru back in the 90s, condemned for Crimes Against Humanity. PPK had promised not to do that during his campaign. But then more paychecks and contracts kept being poured into the media until finally it came to the recordings of meetings of vote-buying in the Peruvian Congress released yesterday. Kuczynski becomes first active Psdt to fall as result of the Odebrecht scandal.

This will end with election of NEW PRESIDENT OF CUBA ON APRIL 19. The lack of news about Cuban elections has been surprising - especially in contrast with mayhem around Venezuela - although it's clear that one of the reasons for it has been to silence the very fact that there ARE elections in Cuba as well as particular characteristics of the system. The article offers a glimpse on it as well as on provocators from abroad who of course are interested in stirring something up.

Although a small reference to Cuban economy at the beginning of the article doesn't exactly correspond to reality anymore, the history of the rise of Cuban Biotechnology and Science in general during the Revolution is written with inside knowledge. The article offers a perspective on the organization of scientific work in the research centers, products, macro-organization of the science and Biotech sector in particular and reviews the (scarce) reflection of Cuban success in the area in the media.

THIS is honesty, not the propaganda crap you read everyday about Venezuela in the Western MSM. It's written by Alan Woods, a British Marxist scholar and editor-in-chief of what is perhaps one of the sanest left-wing websites there are. Alan Woods met Chavez, accompanied him on tours around Venezuela on several occasions. At the same time, Alan Woods is capable of critical analysis and is never marrying any dogmatic campaign slogans presented as the Absolute-Truth-Never-To-Be-Disputed. Other articles on Venezuela on his site show you the truth about internal contradictions of Bolivarian Revolution and of the Chavismo, of which this is a resume worth reading by anyone who needs an intelligent glimpse into below the surafce of the fanatical slogans of "dictatorship" and "freedom and democracy".
Sunday, December 24, 2017 We are here, and will remain, free, sovereign and independentSHARE
RAUL CASTRO CONFIRMS OFFICIALLY HIS DEPARTURE FROM PRESIDENCY OF CUBA ON APRIL 19, 2018. This is the official speech at the closing session of Cuban National Assembly in which the still President examines the events of 2017 - GDP growth 1,6% despite the hurricane impact - and international events such as the setback in the US-Cuba relations. The hurricane impact delayed the elections calendar so the end of the Legislature initially scheduled for February had to be prolonged until March 25 and the election of the new Council of State by the Assembly will take on April 19.
Saturday, December 23, 2017 39TH HAVANA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL Films presenting relevant contemporary Latin American issuesSHARE
Here is the list of Prizes from the last edition of Havana Film Festival. The Festival had started back in 1978 focusing on the New Latin American cinema - films portraying continent's burning social reality. Throughout the years important names, such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez's, have been associated with the Festival. Neither the Festival nor the New Latin American cinema lost their touch with the arrival of the digital age.

Article's own words:"Unbeknownst to a large section of the public, there is a very real story about actual collusion between team Trump and a foreign power. The collusion is deep, nefarious, compromises American goals and interests and is being studiously avoided by the dutiful lapdog mouthpieces in both the anti-Trump and pro-Tramp MSM fake news camps (and even among many in the pseudo-alternative media). And you haven't heard a peep about it because this collusion touches the third rail of international geopolitics: Israel".

This is another SUPERB report by Andre Vltchek showing the true face of capitalism and its functioning from inside - and more, it shows how underdevelopment is being fabricated and maintained using the technique of a case-study. There are both History of past decades and recent. It shows consequences both in physical living conditions and in their moods.

The widely trumpeted
scandal about "mysterious" sonic attacks against American diplomats
in the US Embassy in Havana was an alleged incident in which Cuba was denied
cooperation despite having put all of its scientific potential at disposal of
the investigation. It was qualified as a falsehood even by American scientists
who reviewed the issue. Despite it all the incident served as excuse to cancel
delivery of visas in Havana (Cuban residents wishing to request them now have
to travel to Bogota, Colombia, for it) and now extends to THIS. It directly
undermines possible joint investigation of infectious diseases like Zika, etc.,
as people interviewed for the article explain.

A coup carried out by dollars-loaded interests, Psdt overthrown under
fake excuse of him seeking an illegal reelection, Supreme Court and Prosecution
fired and replaced with loyalists suddenly authorizing the reelection, a new
election with power cuts during the transmission of the data, with electoral
acts missing or arriving to the Electoral Authority in envelops with seals violated,
"irreversible" tendency in favor of the opposition candidate suddenly
getting reversed in favor of the oligarchs' candidate - just another day at the
office for the US-related interests in Honduras.
