I'm a writer, living in Santa Barbara, CA. Formerly a lawyer, but now recovered. I suppose you'd say I'm a Lefty, but I'm not crazy about labels. I'm grossly disappointed in the state of American politics, American capitalism and consumerism; indeed, the state of America's place on the planet. I'm an intensely disaffected Obama supporter, having worked for his election for months, including traveling to a neighboring state to knock on doors on his behalf, only to look around the world two years later to find two ongoing wars, secret prisons, grinding poverty and injustice both in American and abroad. In other words, the same old state of affairs that I thought--really believed--would change with Obama's election and the election of a majority of Democrats in both houses of Congress. Now I see that I was tricked, taken in by the fine phrases of Obama and his handlers.
