Wind Resistance is Such a Drag The winds of change are blowing, and every day we are learning more how to harness them. A recent TV ad from Natural Gas shows a chart of energy use in the US. Coal is 39%, Natural Gas 28%, Nuclear 19%, and then Renewables came in at 13%! And "It's getting better all the time." What if there was a way to cash in on some of this energy, mainly the wind, in our cars? Most will tell you no, but have some people already done it?

Saving Two Birds with One Stone Whether they believe in Global Warming or not, most scientists will agree that our sea levels are rising. But did you know that we are also starting to run out of fresh water? 33% of the world is already experiencing a fresh water crisis, and by 2050 that number will be over 60%. What if there was a way to fix both problems at the same time, and it could almost power itself? Sound like a good investment?

What Happens To All That Uranium? The US just announced that they have 5,113 nuclear weapons in their arsenal, and several thousand more "retired." With a new treaty just signed with Russia bringing our limits to 1550, I started thinking, "What happens to all that uranium?" Here's what I could find out and a few of my own suggestions on what we should do with it.

The Battle of Blair Mountain At the battle of Blair Mountain, 10,000 coal miners took on their bosses' hired police squad and the US Government in an attempt to unionize. Will the fear in this financial crisis cause us to give up what they fought for, and will we be willing to pay that price again if we do?

Why We Never Seem to Get the Change We Need I have a friend who often asks me, "Do you think most people realize how incompetent their leaders are?" Maybe, as Bush said in his final press conference, we "misunderestimate" them.

700 Billion Times 10 So, we all know about the $700 billion. Where did this number come from? Well, I don't know. Bloomberg News recently stated the number pledged by our government is $7.6 trillion. Then I remembered a little thing banks get to do that you and I don't, "Fractional Reserve Banking."

Can They Do That?!? It took two weeks and John McCain putting his campaign on hold to pass the $700 Billion Bailout, but The Federal Reserve today created $800 Billion out of thin air. Can they do that?!?

Just a Suggestion Politics have gone beyond issues, and become a competition of my team vs. your team. And nobody's winning.

A (Slight) Win for the Good Guys? Amidst this bailout mess, it looked for a second that Joe Six-Pack was finally going to get a break. But then I kept reading.

Lies and Taxes You know its bad when even Karl Rove says yo went to far. The McCain/Palin ticket has decied to ride the lies into the next election, hoping enough people will think their lies are true. But why shouldn't they, our government has been doing it for years. From your taxes to the free market, who's side are they on, really?

Why do you get them but I can't? The Nuclear Showdown Between the US and Iran During the Ford Administration, the US convinced the Shah of Iran that one day his oil would be gone, and it was time to think about the future - Nuclear Power. So why now is the US trying to stop them?

A Failed Project for the New American Century? The Project for the New American Century was a Neo-conservative think tank who wanted to keep the US number 1. With many roles in the Bush Administration, how did they do?
