A lot of my liberal friends thought that Bill O'Reilly naming far left journalist Helen Thomas a "Pinhead" in his "Pinheads and Patriots" segment last night for her confrontation with White House Press Secretary Dana Perino, was some kind of a joke.
Perhaps if they had heard what Bill played to back him up, they would have thought differently.
MS. PERINO: Because (President Bush)he is the commander on the ground, Helen. He's the one who is making sure that the situation is moving -
THOMAS: You mean how many more people we kill?
MS. PERINO: Helen, I find it really unfortunate that you use your front row position, bestowed upon you by your colleagues, to make such statements. This is a -- it is an honor and a privilege to be in the briefing room, and to suggest that we, at the United States, are killing innocent people is just absurd and very offensive.
THOMAS: Do you know how many we have since the start of this war?
MS. PERINO: How many -- we are going after the enemy, Helen. To the extent that any innocent Iraqis have been killed, we have expressed regret for it.
THOMAS: Oh, regret. It doesn't bring back a life.
While there are those who would thought that the Pinhead award should have gone to Perino for her, "To the extent that any innocent Iraqis have been killed, we have expressed regret for it," keep in mind that there's every indication that the families of those killed were probably quite satisfied with our "regrets," and went on with their lives - if they were still living. But not Helen Thomas. The far-left loon thinks that a regret "doesn't bring back a life." What? If she now a scientist too?
I am so sick and tired of these so-called journalists asking questions about "who killed who." This is war and who's always get killed by other who's and visa-versa. And the whole innocent civilian thing is getting tired. As I'm sure Ms Thomas knows, we are all sinners and therefore no one, not even an innocent Iraqi civilian, is truly innocent.
So, for those of you that question Bill's naming of Thomas a "Pinhead" for asking if the White House knows how many have been killed or stating equivocally that "regret" doesn't bring back life, I hope now you'll understand asking those type of questions can get innocent civilians killed.
O'Reilly had no choice to point out the pinheadiness of Thomas.
And for that, Bill is a Patriot.
