They Are All Quite Mad

By       (Page 1 of 3 pages)   1 comment

They are all quite mad.

Dick Cheney is seen on camera stating that diplomacy is difficult and then commenting that Peru (whose president is Alan Garcia) deserves a better leader than Hugo Chavez (who is the president of Venezuela, consecutively elected in internationally monitored and certified free and honest elections, by large majorities of the citizens of Venezuela, unlike, say the United States). I admit I have not kept up well with what is happening in Peru (obviously neither has Cheney) but the relative merits of Hugo Chavez do not, I think, impact on Lima all that much. Except inasmuch as Chavez is probably more in tune with the future of Latin America than either Cheney or Bush.

During the emergency meeting on how to deal with the California wildfires, Cheney is seen nodding off and his staff explains that he is not actually sleeping but is practicing meditation.

Dick knows nothing about diplomacy and very little about the dynamics of politics in Latin America. His interest in environmental disasters and their impact on the lives of thousands of Americans is minimal. But I doubt that he nods off in meetings on the Iraq war or on impending plots of bombing Teheran. Dick most probably knows who the president of Iraq is. Dick doesn't care who that is, only that whomever he is he obeys his masters in Washington.

Dick may know about the constitution. Dick does not like the constitution. Dick knows about imperial presidencies. Dick loves imperial presidencies. Dick loves dictatorial power.

Dick is quite insanely obsessed to the exclusion of facts or rationality with establishing American hegemony in the world. Dick is part and parcel of the totally immoral corruption that is raping and ravishing Iraq and raiding the U.S. Treasury openly and arrogantly of billions of dollars in the most obvious of colossal scams in American history.

Dick blithely ignores rampant contractor corruption and murderous mercenary crimes in Iraq and amorally continues his disastrous course of infinite war for profit over the bloody corpses and mangled bodies of Iraqi men, women and children and American soldiers. Dick's connection to and profiting from contractor corruption in Iraq is ignored by the press.

Dick does not meditate. Dick forges ahead, single-mindedly and regardless of mass death and destruction, toward implementation of a totally unrealistic and historically proven-to-fail agenda.
