Obama: 1307 -- Hillary: 1175Obama has won twice as many states as Hillary, Obama has won the popular vote and Obama is so far ahead in the delegate count, it is mathematically impossible for Hillary to catch up to Obama in the delegate count. Obama is winning the nomination race. Tim Russert said this morning Hillary would have to win 65% of the vote in each of the remaining states to be able to catch up to Obama - and even Hillary knows that's not going to happen. The Obama camp has circulated their forecast which shows Obama STILL winning the delegate count by the time they get to the convention - the Hillary camp has no such scenario even POSSIBLE. The Hillary camp KNOWS the ONLY WAY they get enough delegates to win the nomination is by conning unelected super-delegates to switch their vote AWAY FROM the Will of the People in their state. This is known as the Clinton campaign "strategy." I call it undemocratic.
Obama has cut Hillary's super-delegate lead in half, and more super-delegates are defecting from Hillary weekly. Obama hasn't lost any super-delegates to Hillary.
At this point, it is mathematically impossible for Hillary to catch up to Obama. From now until the Democratic National Convention, Hillary and her camp's job is to con Americans and super-delegates into believing Hillary should be the nominee, DESPITE Obama reaching the 2025 delegates needed to win the nomination.
Here's what's going to happen folks: When Hillary and Obama go to the Democratic Convention in Denver, Obama will be the winner, still far ahead in the delegate count; in other words, Obama is winning today, and will remain the winner in "states won" AND "delegates won." BECAUSE Hillary would have to win at least 65% of the vote in each of the remaining states to catch up to Obama in the delegate count; Hillary, Obama, the DNC and every political analyst knows that's not going to happen.
THEREFORE, the ONLY WAY Hillary can win the nomination is at the Democratic Convention, making nefarious backroom deals with turncoat super-delegates. In other words, Hillary would have to con enough super-delegates into voting AGAINST THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE in those states that Obama won. At this point, the only way Hillary can win the nomination is by conning enough super-delegates to vote AGAINST the Will of the People in their states. This is the Hillary Clinton campaign "strategy." I call it unAmerican and undemocratic.
I contend such conduct is reprehensible and unconstitutional. You can count on Bill, Hillary and the rest of the Clinton Camp cut-throaters coming out of the woodwork to undemocratically coerce super-delegates into voting AGAINST the Will of the People of their respective states. Bill and Hillary will be cutting throats and deals in backroom deals - just like the Russians.
Hillary's job till the Democratic National Convention is to trick everyone into believing that SHE is the CHOICE OF THE PEOPLE, DESPITE the fact Hillary is NOT the choice of the people as evidenced by the elected delegate count. Currently the pledged super-delegate count is Hillary 254 to Obama's 211, and the Obama camp said they expect about fifty super-delegates to join Obama this week. Even if the current super-delegate count didn't change from what it is today, it is still mathematically impossible for Hillary to get enough delegates win the nomination.
If the appointed super-delegates were required by law to vote for the candidate their state delegates selected, this nomination process would be OVER RIGHT NOW FOR HILLARY. Unfortunately, Bill and Hillary are sharpening their long knives ready to cut throats (and deals) in their smokey, backroom deals with DNC-appointed "super-delegates."
Who's going to elect the Democratic Party nominee? The voters, or DNC-appointed "super-delegates?" Now is when DNC Chairman Howard Dean should step in to make sure the Will of the People is reflected in the people's choice for the nomineeship, instead of the will of Bill and Hillary Clinton making backroom deals with DNC-appointed "super-delegates" to usurp our democracy and the Will of the People.
btw, some "superdelegates" are elected officials and some "superdelegates" are former elected officials. None of the "superdelegates" were elected by the People in any "delegate race." "Superdelegates" became "superdelegates" by virtue of the Chairman of the Democratic National Committee APPOINTING an elected official or formerly elected official to be a "superdelegate." This "DNC-appointed superdelegate" feature did not come into existence until 1982, when Democratic Party leaders decided they weren't happy with the system America has used for decades and decades and decades. The Will of the People wasn't good enough for those Democratic Party officials who concocted the 1982 "DNC-appointed superdelegate" system.
