Though it is very difficult to support President George W. Bush at this critical juncture, honestly speaking, I have been supporting him in his war on terrorism and praying for his success.

His war on terrorism can be justified as terrorists have made the life for the common people very difficult. The President, however, committed several mistakes as he acted on wrong information. His selection of partners, particularly in the Muslim world, was wrong. He chose dishonest and greedy leaders, who instead of liberating the humanity from terrorism remained busy in filling their pockets with dollars.

The United States and West were always provided wrong information about the tribal areas situated on Pak-Afghan border. Mainstream media played a very negative role in the war on terrorism. US and Western journalists never went to the field to confirm the information given to them by their local sources. They just pass the news around without bothering to confirm them.

This is my firm belief that US should win the war on terrorism as this is in the interest of whole world.

Bajaur Agency is still in tension as terrorists have been spoiling the mind of innocent youth. The officials belately started an operation against the terrorists and Taliban. According to a newspapter report, political authorities have arrested 39 suspects and imposed a ban on display of arms in different parts of the Bajaur Agency after an upsurge in terrorist attacks in the area, a senior official said.

"The Bajaur Levies have started patrolling and setting up new checkpoints in the area bordering Afghanistan to check the movement of militants," the official said, adding that the militants had enhanced their activities in the agency, creating a sense of insecurity among the people.

Nawagai Assistant Political Agent of Muhammad Jamil Khan told journalists in his office that law-enforcement agencies had arrested 39 suspects in the Mamond area, most of them Afghans, during a drive against anti-social elements.

He said the administration had banned display of weapons and, for the purpose, new checkpoints had been established in the area, adding that armed masked men would not be allowed to enter main towns of the agency.

"Some elements are trying to challenge the writ of the government. That is why the administration has banned the display of weapons and the movement of these elements in the main towns of the agency," he said.
The End
