Bullies are really cowards
They strut, and brag, and act tough
But down deep inside, they're really afraid
Bullies are always having to prove themselves
They have to show off how brave and fearless they are
When way down inside, they are really very, very frightened
Bullies walk around with cocky smirks on their faces
They spew out sarcastic and caustic humor about everything
And they make fun of kindness, and gentleness, and compassion
They pick on those who are weak, innocent, or different
And they justify every act as being necessary in a cruel world
Bullies are often bigger, louder, and more demanding than everyone else
They have smaller friends, even more fearful, who hang or hover around them
And these friends love to fawn over their leader and follow his every wish and whim
Bullies will try to convince you that it is in your interest to follow their lead
They want you to believe that they can protect you from every imaginable threat
And they will do anything and everything to you, to convince you that they are right
But bullies are really cowards
They are really terrified of the world
And they are really very frightened inside
That's why they have to act so tough
That's why they always have to have their guard up
That's why they have to keep everyone else under their control
That's why they make fun of kindness, and gentleness, and compassion
And bullies don't like people who defy them
They come down hard on anyone with real courage and honor
They come down cruelly on those who have the courage of their convictions
They come down coldly on those who put their conscience ahead of lies and violence
Like:
Sgt. Camilo Mejia
Sgt. Kevin Benderman
Capt. James Yee
Lt. Ehren Matada
Spc. Suzanne Swift
This is part of an honor roll of true courage
This is the beginning of a march of true patriotism
These are the ones who refuse to do the bully's every bidding
These are the ones who have the courage to defy the cowardice of the bully
Because bullies are really cowards
