Mystic Christianity identifies Christ as the evolutionary potential of humanity while many of that religion (both Catholic and Protestant) argue against evolution. The question is what purpose would the "higher powers" (banks, church and state) have in wanting people to question evolution.
Perhaps Darwin's theory had more political implications for the institutions of church and state than what even he realized?
Authors such as Daniel Quinn argue that the evolution of the human species has been thwarted since the time of the writing of Genesis 1 in the Bible. Is the fall of humanity not only from living as one with Nature (i.e., being natural (naked) in the garden), but also as being stagnant in their development of natural intelligence in accordance to one's Nature or Essence? This thwarting has been to the point that we need clothing and heated, air-conditioned buildings in order to handle hot and cold weather. We transport ourselves mechanically, losing our physical prowess. We rely on aleopathic medications and interventions instead of nutrition and our bodies' inborn healing abilities. We have ceased to use huge portions of our brains that may once have allowed us to communicate with the rest of Mother Nature's family. As we learned to adapt the environment to our needs, comforts, and desires, we ceased to adapt our species to the environment. We may soon have to pay the price of having become "misfits" in nature.
Could we like some Yogi masters learn to sit naked in the snow and even melt some of that snow from the heat of our own body? As Christ said regarding His own miracles, "Ye shall do works greater than these."
Perhaps the order that Eve pay attention to Adam, the Man, refers to our paying attention to the external world rather than the inner? The implications of this are enormous given our direction to obey a hierarchy that includes church, state, police, military, and the ultimate overseers--the banks and corporations. In this world, the "Man of the House," while ruler over the women and children in his household, is, himself, under the thumb of the corporate elites. Thus a working man is said to be of the "Labor Class" and the fall of "Labor" i.e., of Eve, is to do labor in pain and to be under the strong arm of that Man.
Is this God's glory or Her/His headache? Remember, Genesis 1:27 says Adamah was made in the image of God, "Male and Female created He them". Apparently there is no hierarchy in the body of the Absolute between Woman and Man. It is interesting in this regard that the name given to the rib of Adam in Genesis 1:2 is the Hebrew "Ti" which does indeed mean rib but also means life. Thus, in some Christian Gnostic writings, Eve is often referred to as Zoe, or Infinite Life.
To make this movement concrete for modern days, meditate for a moment on the purpose of standardized education. Is it to free the minds of children into creative thought or is it about control and domination in order to "whip them into shape" for doing the work of the Man, i.e., the corporation?
The suppression of Labor, of Inner Works, of Unfolding from Within, is the suppression of evolution. When an egg is fertilized by sperm, the egg develops herself into a baby and does so from center to periphery and not from the commands of an external agent. (see: http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=An0MXZyXDHtm4ps44q5lDgWbvZx4?p=human+conception%2C+fertilization+of+egg&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-701).
It is interesting that the sperm in this footage have quite a task in front of them. They swim upstream against all odds, at times they try to fertilize incorrect cells.. And, in the end, only one lucky "fellah" gets in. The sperm disintegrates, giving up his individual life to the evolution of a baby that will be born into a world and will continue his or her evolution in relationship to the external world.
If you watch the fetus grow, you will soon realize that he / she evolves in relationship to all the other cells growing in the body. For example, a heart cell evolves due to intense interactions between all the other cells in the body which signal to the heart cell that this is what is needed. The fetus also grows through phases that clearly connect its biology and form to that of all other earthly lifeforms, giving clear evidence of evolution.
Also the fetus evolves in relationship to her mother's body, just as all life evolves and performs in relationship to its biosphere. If its mother smokes, or is polluted by industrial chemicals, then the fetus is affected. Furthermore, the baby continues to adapt after birth in relationship to this smoke intoxicated body (unless it dies, of course).
In accordance to the Gaia Hypothesis of James Lovelock, the Earth operates in much the same fashion. We have insects, birds, trees, and all creatures--including the rocks, hills, rivers and seas--operating together as one organism. Thus the plants and trees breathe out oxygen which we humans alongside other animals breathe in and then we breathe out carbon dioxide which the trees and plants breathe in. Human nutritional needs have evolved in relationship to the soil, minerals, and waters that support them. The variations in human skin colors evolved in relation to the amount of sunlight locally available.
How the life on Earth develops is how a fetus develops. All things work together. This includes ecosystems. While a lioness is considered an enemy to a gazelle, the fact is she keeps the population of gazelles in check which also impacts the balance of the grassland.
As Christian mystic Meister Eckhart once stated, "God creates everything with everything in mind." This probably should not be seen as an externalized God, but as a function of transcendent Nature which pervades and permeates all things. Or as Darwin once stated, Nature has an overseeing eye that fosters evolution.
This overseeing eye could be viewed as a transcendent consciousness which is akin to seeing the world from a perspective not unlike the powerful effects that seeing the Earth from the Moon had on the Apollo astronauts.
