Arkansas Democratic Party Chairman Bill Gwatney was assassinated this afternoon in the state's Democratic Offices in Little Rock.
Gwatney expired just before 4:00 PM (3:59) Wednesday afternoon after an assassin walked into the Democratic Party's state offices and fired bullets into his upper torso.
Former President Bill Clinton and Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) issued a statement shortly after Gwatney died expressing their sympathy.
The killer also died Wednesday afternoon following a police chase ending in gunfire. The assassin was described as a white male probably in his fifties.
