What kind of mess has Karl Rove left for America? Just how badly has he harmed the reputations of the Justice Department, the Republican Party, the Presidency, and the nation as a whole.
Scott Horton, of Harper', provides some insightful answers in his interview with Paul Alexander, author of the just-released book, Machiavelli's Shadow: The Rise and Fall of Karl Rove.

It sounds as if Alexander's book will be must reading for folks who hope to see the United States take a turn back in the right direction come January 2009.
Alabama blogger Legal Schnauzer has a particular interest in Rove and his impact on the U.S. Department of Justice. A growing body of evidence suggests that Rove instigated what will become one of the worst scandals in American history, a scandal that so far is perhaps best known for the highly questionable prosecution of former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman.
