Attorney General Eric Holder
Dear Honorable Attorney General Holder:
As an advocate for the fair administration of justice, especially as it relates to the protections of children and those who protect them as mandated reporters/whistleblowers,it is difficult to understand whysomeone in a position to connect the dots and take immediate corrective action, has not found the courageto do so!Yes, this is an election year -- but, so what! There are too many unanswered questions that are being swept under the rug in our society, as evidenced by media reports involving Jaycee Dugard, Melissa Huckaby, Chelsea King, Amber Dubois and the international clergy sex abuse crisis, asdescribed below:
The Modesto Beereported on July 8, 2010,"Dugard Settlement Leaves Questions", at http://www.modbee.com/2010/07/09/1244920/dugard-settlement-leaves-questions.html, that "...by settling out of court, the state almost certainly saved quite a bit of money. But that savings has to be weighed against the value of full disclosure -- the facts that would have come out during a trial and the accountability to follow."
There is not a parent in the world that does not feel thehorrific pain that Jaycee's kidnapping and abuse have caused to everyone with knowledge of the tragedy. Now that the $20 million settlement has been approved by California's government leaders, will thismatterbe signed, sealed, check delivered and Voila, the facts surrounding the crimesfiled away from public disclosure forever?
