Preface; I have spent most of the last twenty years living with, learning with and sharing life with the Lakota people of the Pine Ridge Reservation"[insert "concentration camp to sub for "reservation"]  For years I traveled and taught all over the western United States, as a Sundancer and Pipe Carrier experiencing a life so different from that of the dominate culture that my biggest problem is readjusting to contemporary society. Not only is it difficult, I really do not want to adjust to this insanity that calls itself modern culture

Heyokha"from the Lakota.   Heyokha is a word associated with the Thunder Dreamers sometimes called backwards or Contraries,   these people are considered sacred and clowns in that they do things backwards which is often fun and entertaining yet hold a much deeper meaning in spiritual ways as well.   In this piece I am using the word in it's Clown like definition.   To my Heyokha friends I am using this ONLY in that way, to hold up before the people that which shows them the foolishness of their ways.

It's a Heyokha World out there

Let me start here with a quote I forwarded to my personal blog and commented on.  I quote".."

"Just look at us. Everything is backwards; everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the major media destroy information and religions destroy spirituality" - Michael Ellner

Anyone who has read what I post on my blog, knows the story I tell about a young student that needed an idea from me about how to deal with all I had been teaching him,  while I left on a trip [To the rest of you, just follow a second and the story will be clear]".and how I was shown to tell him that while I was away he could best study for himself by looking at the world of contemporary society as backwards or, using a word he understood well"a Heyokha world"and to explore the idea of reversing all they told him and looking at it from the opposite perspective"..little did I know way back then, in '95 just how true the words I was given by spirit were to prove to be.

One need only look at the evolution of things like "Free Speech Zones"".paramilitary armed police beating pregnant women in Seattle".or shooting a Marine observer at a demonstration in California at point blank range with a tear gas grenade" the brutal assault on Women's Rights by nearly half our population that backed recent candidates in our "so called"  "Land of the Free" to see a positively Orwellian trend in our government's actions.  Throw in the horrific shootings in movie theaters and primary schools and things seem totally out of control
