We need a new Enlightenment for our vastly changed economic and social reality. Especially we need to open our eyes to the reality of "money"; and see that the bankers' monopoly on money issuance -- combined with the negative sum arithmetic of issuing the world's money supply as debt at interest -- is the driver of the gross economic and human in-efficiency of money-seeking corporate industry.
We need a new Independence Day -- independence from an ancient aristocracy of money; independence from thinking that made sense within a special set of circumstances that existed 250 years ago but which fails to acknowledge the completely changed realities of modern life. Rugged individualism worked for pioneers. Modern life requires deliberate human social and economic cooperation -- people-serving government -- which includes giving a sh*t about what happens to each other and this planet.
We will explore these themes further in the next article, Economic Democracy vs Banker Plutocracy.
