[That's right, America, maybe there is something you can learn and bring home, too, when you spend more time meeting peoples in this region of the world face-to-face! This Kuwait friend was referring to "family values", i.e. where one receives support throughout one's life from one's extended family. He was saying that American culture enforces a sense of lack of identity which leads to many young people adrift.]
There are already some good people-to-people orgnaizations in Kuwait, like the AWARE CENTER in Surra. However, as wealthy as Kuwait is, the country could do a lot more to integrate peoples locally and do more to promote peace and understanding regionally--and across the globe. On the other hand, Americans are going to have to move past fear and put a lot more effort into gettng to know their supposed enemies. Be cautious, but come on over!
