What happens in our sexual lives and in the conception of children happens throughout this Earth and the great universe of which she is a daughter. In fact, the son born of the human mother unfolds within the earth's ecosystem which supports him in food, atmosphere, etc just as his mother did in the uterus and as the Earth does within the solar system and universe. That same son then returns to the womb in the form of a heterosexual relationship during his lifetime and to the soils of the Earth at death. As it is in Heaven, so it is on Earth; so it is in human relationships.
Is it truly an accident that the primary movement of birth from a woman is down and out and intercourse between a woman and man is upward and inward? In some ancient times, this union was often referred to as the death of the little man. Yet, it is in this death that he enters a "higher" or more holistic / integrated state of being.
Our literal death at this point is probably not a matter of choice. Our planet's ecosystem is deteriorating, we are engaged in constant warfare, our economy is collapsing, and we regular folks are working harder for more hours while earning less benefits and pay. We furthermore continue to deplete the atmosphere as well the Earth's resources as we are becoming depleted our self. Why? Again, it is because we refuse to die to a way of life. For example, the economy is crashing while the rich become richer and more alienated from the now defunct middle class and lower classes. Yet we continue to put our faith in the bankers, corporate heads, academics and politicians to get us out of our mess.
None of these can be counted on.
Yet, we hold on. We know we are being taken by the oil companies, yet, we continue to bow down to them. We realize the banks are taking us for a ride"yet we continue to allow them. The point boils down to the fact that we are constantly looking outside of ourselves for solutions.
Our Psyches must turn inwards, just as a woman's vulva folds inwards towards the source of the eggs that become us. The Greeks had a good reason to identify the Psyche or Soul / Mind as a Goddess. Psyche is our inner world. It is where our potential lies. Just as women are vulnerable to rape, so also are the Earth and our Psyches. Standardized education, industries and services are the implements of this rape. Our culture forces itself upon rather than allowing for a joyful union. Our Psyche, whether She is of the Earth or our personal Psyche, is horrifically abused and raped by a monster that most of us see as our life support.
Male and female alike, we are both raped so long as we buy into the false values and practices of the patriarchy. Invulnerability through aggressive power is a masculine myth that women emulate at great risk. Rather, women and men together must face the paradoxical vulnerability yet procreativity of the Feminine Divine within us all. Life, inclusive of death, and Love, inclusive of surrender, are the true empowering principles of the Universe.
Just as every woman's ovaries have eggs that can become potential human beings; we have within our Psyche the potential for a new humanity and a new Earth. It's there swimming around with other potentials. But, it's there. We must act towards all things on this Earth as a loving Father. Just as a man enters a woman to join with her in a unified state of consciousness or to fertilize an egg into becoming a person, then we must enter the mysteries of the Earth.
