Grace's trial in 1706 took place on these grounds in the Princess Anne Courthouse and this is the same day and hour that Sherwood was marched down Witchduck Road to be ducked in the Lynnhaven River.
As the organization which convicted Grace, this constitutes the Old Donation Church's first tangible recognition of her torturous ordeal.
The public is invited to attend the event on the grounds of the church at 4449 N Witchduck Rd, Virginia Beach, VA, on July 10, 2014, at 10 a.m. For more information on the event contact the Old Donation Church Historian, Bob Perrine 757-481-1269. For more information on Grace Sherwood, contact Belinda Nash through www.http://ferryplantation.org
Recognition and memorial bricks are still available for a $100 donation each, and will be placed in the walkway near the statue of Grace Sherwood. For more info http://ferryplantation.org/history/grace-sherwood/
