There is no need to continue to not recognize the effects this kind of prosecution imparts on the fabric of the nation. It is your responsibility, Mr. Obama, Mr. Holder, Mr. Reid, Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Conyers, to step up to the plate of Justice through Accountability and Accountability through Justice.
Make it clear that Democrats are in charge and they are not going to continue to watch the decline of Liberty and Freedom. Show your strength through upholding our Constitution, not undermining it ever again. You could foster a time of renewal. Imagine and act.
The last Monday of this month, July 2009, is a deadline you must keep. Exonerate Don Siegelman or order a new trial with a new judge.
And, President Obama, you must also, post haste, appoint a new US Attorney for the Middle District of Alabama. Leura Canary is herself being investigated by the current DOJ. It is likely there is enough evidence that would warrant she face the House Judiciary Committee and answer for her involvement in the very actions of Karl Rove; presumed to have breached the integrity of the Justice Department in too extensive a way to ignore.
You all are all we've got, We The People depend on you to steer our ship out of the dangerous waters we've been led into.
Get our Justice Department back in good stead with good will and start by bringing the glass of justice to a most thirsty citizen, Don Siegelman.
