What about the speakers at the Rutgers University “rally” who said that “anger over Imus' remarks should be channeled into combating racism and sexism”? Or one of the basketball team's student managers who stated “You can't use the word “ho's” anymore. Everyone's like 'I don't want to hear that word.' ”. Or how about the pastor of the team's coach who was going to negotiate “terms of the meeting” between Imus and the team?
Negotiate terms of the meeting? This isn't the Camp David Peace Accords. Have these people completely lost their minds?
Where are all these entities in the fight to end racism, all racism, regardless of the color of the perpetrator? They have the platform to do so, but instead are completely squandering their “fifteen minutes”.
Americans need to grow up, stand up, and be courageous in exposing racist-rattlers like Sharpton and Jackson, and holding influential leaders like Bruce Gordon accountable to be fair, true and accurate in zero tolerance proclamations.
Anything else simply perpetuates racism, and makes us lackeys for the real hypocrites.
Enough is enough.
