This self-imposed limitation and prohibition severely and surely limit a spiritual person's actions. It nails to the cross their ambitions.
Also, a really spiritual person is deeply disinclined to fall a prey all over again to the karmic ploy of getting tethered to transitory temporal gains at the cost of one's godly ambitions.
In other words, he or she is more concerned with seeking to break and end this vicious cycle of birth and death. Eastern sages, especially of ancient India, like the Buddha, have stressed the importance of doing so. They believe that one keeps on birthing again and again, needlessly so, owing to one being pointedly and purposefully entangled in this 'here today gone tomorrow' earthly life.
So, yes. It may be said that to a rather noticeable and palpable extent, actually and factually, spirituality does seem to kill ambition 0 but not the truest and the highest ambition.
Of being One with One.
And be done.
