You don’t need to worry--the Bush Administration has not forgotten our veterans. It is working to:
· ...narrow the definition of combat related disability, thus “costing some injured veterans thousands of dollars in lost benefits.”--LA Times, 11/25/08
· ... block the Department of Veterans Affairs from issuing new “user-friendly” guidance materials on burial and survivors benefits.

In its final days, the Bush Administration seems to have taken a special interest in the environment. They have, or are attempting to:
· ...change the Endangered Species Act, so that federal agencies would no longer have to consult with independent agencies (such as the Fish and Wildlife Service or the National Marine Fisheries) on whether a project would harm an endangered species. Political appointees (with no scientific background or concern for endangered species) will be able to make all decisions on future projects. The new rules also require federal agencies to ignore how projects may contribute to global warming and affect species and habitats.
· ... circumvent public feedback on regulation changes by limiting the period for public comment, by not allowing e-mailed or faxed comments or scheduling public hearings.
