So while Hillary dances about and appears to be flapping about when it comes to foreign policy the fact is that she continues to swing further and further to the right to woo the most militaristic and aggressive sections of the American voting population. That is hardly surprising given her ability to change her tune and re-color her spots as the political winds demand. Of course, she’s learned that from her popular husband, former US president Bill Clinton, who tailor-made his political positions in response to the daily polls.

In office he was nearly obsessed with polling data and owes his success to taking pro-people positions and tinkering with domestic and foreign policy issues as a reaction to the real opinions and circumstances on the ground. That is a part of the strategy that his wife Hillary has not yet mastered so she comes over as a died-in-the-wool opportunist and politician who would say and do anything to get elected.

But there is a dangerous undertone to the Ever-Changing Hillary. The alacrity by which she has consistently embraced Republican Party issues and supported the most arrogant, militaristic and belligerent foreign policy positions says that in this new targeting of Iran almost all of the 2008 presidential candidates – Republican and Democrats alike – and their political parties have reached near unanimity about launching another unprovoked war of aggression.

And this unity of purpose and small differences in tactics between the Republican and Democratic Parties underscores the fact that BOTH parties have alienated themselves from “we the people.” In essence therefore the positions, actions and behavior of our political leaders are at complete and total odds with the aspirations, wishes and desires of “we the people.”

Be it the Ever-Changing Hillary, the Jaded Obama or the Sorry Old Men in the Republican Party the new Bush Iran Policy will not be questioned in the interest of “national security.” King George and the Republican Party has done a great Communist-style mass indoctrination, “brain wash,” if you will that has everybody believing in the righteousness and near divine nature of “the war on terror.” Nowadays nobody questions this catch-all, broad, nebulous policy fearing the Republican amen chorus’ strident shouting of “unpatriotic and aiding and abetting” terrorists.

In such a climate people like Senators Joe Lieberman and Hillary Clinton thrive by changing their spots, positions and behavior to suit the prevailing political winds. Standing for everything and standing for nothing.
