OK, it isn't fair. Saddam was a so-called American ally at the time of Auchi’s involvement. Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bush 41, and many other Republicans had ties to Saddam and other murdering arms merchants. The Clintons likely know such players.

But Obama hails from the Field of Dreams. He would build a park in which American decency would flourish. Build it and they will come. But the appearance of money-launderers, influence peddlers, weapons dealers and bombastic preachers in his dugout is unsavory to say the least. This is not CHANGE. This is the oldest game in the world. Many an Obama supporter must feel like the kid who approached Shoeless Joe when the Chicago White Sox threw the 1919 World Series. Say it ain’t so, Barack. Say it ain’t so….

Barack just might have an answer though. Again, by raising the level of debate. After all, isn’t it past time we took a good hard look at just who defines America’s friends and enemies, and just who profits from such calls?

Obama’s at the bat, the pitch is on its way.

And there’s still hope for joy in Mudville.
