The reasons why we are in such a sad state in this country are many. My last article outlined some major reasons such as the failed two party system, corporate lobbying, consolidation of the media and an out of control Executive branch emboldened by a rubber-stamp Congress. There are also the stolen elections, the corporations that really run this country and somewhere at the back of the list you could say there are some radical fringe elements of Christianity which come in the name of Christ only. Their power, if any, is very limited. If there was a business decision to be made that went against radical Christians I have no doubt that the powers that be would not care about what the Christians wanted. Don't believe me? Just look at the failed nomination of Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court. That decision was a political one for Bush and it infuriated the radical fringe Christians.
To blame it everything on Christians is simplistic to the point of absurdity. To further the problem by deriding Christians will only further the divide in this country. I pray that Mr. Uhler and others be more careful in the future. Christians are not your problem. Oversimplification of world events and blaming Christians for your lot in life, along with mocking God is not the answer. Christ was already crucified once. If Mr. Uhler does not believe in God, that is his unfortunate situation but he should not push his godlessness upon those who do believe, while confusing political decisions with religious ones.Next Page 1 | 2
