A) recount votes until the $27,000 is used up (at 24 cents per ballot), or,
B) they get enough extra funds to count the rest of the ballots, or,
C) if Kucinich (there was no hypothetical "why?" answer as to Kucinich requesting this) decides he does not want a full recount !
My thought is this.
If we, as the ER community of the US, can't or won't pony up the money to finish this recount, we should all just pack it in and go home with out tails between our legs!!
Nancy Tobi initially weighed in with a nearly tearful plea for one and all to BEG Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich not to ask for a recount. Why, I don't know. But I was not in agreement.
Now, via my phone call to the NH SoS office, it seems that SoS Gardner is making it as difficult as possible for Kucinich to carry out this recount, and is now only letting the recount proceed until the last 24 cents per vote is expended !!
The last time I remember this much overt obstruction to the gaining of legitimate information was in the attempt to find the 18 and a half minutes of tape recordings of Richard Nixon. What is Gardner hiding, anyway??
We at ShowMeTheVote.org are currently building a website. The webmaster says the PayPal account has already been set up and functioning (hope he is right). We are willing to allow funds to be contributed to the Kucinich Recount effort (as opposed to the Kucinich Campaign fund) to be funneled through our account for the purpose of forwarding it to the entity requiring it for the recount.
I think the most foolish thing WE could do would be to allow this recount to be stopped with less than 100% of the votes recounted.
The decision to stop the recount before completion will be Kucinich's, not ours. But if he has to stop it only because his pockets are empty, and SoS Gardner is requiring cash on the barrelhead, then I think that fault will lie with the ER community.
Kucinich has stepped up for our Nation at this point and, even if your own choice for President is Stephen Colbert or David Duke, I think we owe him big time for this.
Anyone willing to step up and do their part??
