In similar regards, many Black Lives Matters activists will not yield to Progressives or the Democratic Party in general, nor should they. They should not listen to the old guard or trust Hillary Clinton. And they should be wary of Bernie Sanders as Democrats and politicians have lied to the black community for decades, pandering to get their vote, only to forget about them after they were elected, developing apathy to the fact that those simply born a darker color of skin are tragically not promised the same rights and treatment as everyone else. They have a right to be angry.
Many factions in the Democratic Party have a right to be angry (Progressives, Labor, environmentalists and the Hispanic community to name a few). What we are seeing now is this anger and frustration that so few lives have improved over the last few decades being channeled into massive movements. It is only a matter of time before the different factions of the Democratic Party split altogether.
I fear that electing Hillary Clinton may be the last straw which is why I will not vote for her if she is the nominee. The Democrats can win all the elections they want but if nothing really changes for the better, we don't win anything. Let me end with this quote by Bobby Kennedy.
"A revolution is coming -- a revolution which will be peaceful if we are wise enough; compassionate if we care enough; successful if we are fortunate enough -- But a revolution which is coming whether we will it or not. We can affect its character; we cannot alter its inevitability."
