Who then was the mother of Giulio? She was the courtesan Fioretta Gorini (1453-1478) of whom close to nothing is known. Perhaps Giuliano when he knew that his lover was pregnant commissioned the paiting we call Mona Lisa to Leonardo.
And perhaps his famous View of the Valdinievole kept at the Uffizi Museum in Florence, dated by Leonardo 8 August 1473 and considered by some art historians the first European example of a pure landscape was just a study made by Leonardo in preparation for the Mona Lisa.
