To defraud.
To remove (diseased or abnormal specimens) from a group of plants of the same variety.
Tell you the truth. I'm pure confused. Which of the above apply to you? Perhaps instead of rogue you wanted to use a close synonym such as charlatan, cheat, con artist, criminal, crook, deceiver, devil, fraudster, grifter, low life, ne'er-do-well, rascal, reprobate, scalawag, scamp, scoundrel, scumbag, self-serving narcissist, sharper, slime bucket, swindler, tramp or villain.
Then there are the criminal and sinister implications of rogue. Look what the police traditionally called their collection of mug shots of criminals: the rogues gallery. Even Batman's enemies were called rogues and included the likes of Cat Woman, the Joker, Penguin and Riddler. And this whole thing is a riddle to me as to what you mean when you call yourself a rogue.
Even arch-conservative super-heroine Phyllis Schlafly knows that calling somebody a rogue is a bad, bad thing. Look at her column at Townhall.com that was posted on November 17, 2009. "Obama's Radical Rogues Gallery" is what she calls it. So if you have gone rogue with a new meaning for rogue, other conservatives have yet to learn it.
Anyway, I agree with you that you are rogue. Totally, even if it's not for the same reasons. But call me very conservative and traditional when it comes to word meanings and how they are used. So whatever is the reason that you feel which of the above definitions and synonyms best describe you, know that the vast majority of Americans and I agree rogue is the perfect term for you.
