A friend invited me to attend a Zumba class back in March of 2009 because I had been depressed, overweight, diabetic and dealing with my mother battling colon cancer. Once I attended that first Zumba class, I was hooked.
...It was like a party with a twist. And the twist was having fun while burning calories and lighting the fire in a body that had been sitting on ice. I LOVE Zumba. I love it so much that I am a Zumba groupie. If I could offer a metaphor, it would be this: the relationship a spark plug has to an engine is what Zumba is to exercise and the body...Exercise can be fun!!! Felicia H.
I own a restaurant, and wine store, which are both very demanding and stressful on my life. [But] when I finish the class, the tension is released and the fulfillment I feel when I dance my way to fitness is worth every moment of being there. I can face the day totally rejuvenated and energized. Debbie A.

Zumba is like dancing by myself in my room, but with structure. I think exercising should be fun and life-affirming and to me, Zumba is just that! Hollie G.

Zumba with Suzy takes me back to dancing with girlfriends during my adolescence. It is THAT fun! As a middle-aged mother of three, I especially appreciate being energized through Zumba -- dance, music, fun...couldn't be exercise, could it?
The only thing missing from an otherwise perfect marriage to my husband is the fact that he does not dance. Yes, I knew that when I married him, but in doing so, I somehow repressed my own desire to dance! Zumba has given me an outlet for rekindling my love of dance. If Zumba isn't therapy, I don't know what is! Natalie R.

Based on these comments and what I see for myself every week, you're definitely onto something, Suzy. Thank you for talking with me. See you next Sunday!
