For white radio commentators, who have both wealth and power; bigotry is criminal. Their desire for power is insatiable, and they will not rest until they have the power to make and break governments. One commentator, Rush Limbaugh, is already so powerful that the National Republican Party bows to his leadership more than it does the Party Chairman, or any Republican politician. Limbaugh's recent comments concerning the reinstitution of segregation on school buses, once again demonstrates his bigotry; as his playing the song "Obama, the Magic Negro, and his comments on Philadelphia Eagles' quarterback Donovan McNabb, have in the past. We must be aware of our own streak of bigotry which all of us, to some extent, suffer. We must become aware that bigotry is not just a matter of race, or of a majority oppressing a minority. Bigotry is based upon the perverse desire to have power "or at least feel you have power, over other people "when morality and justice are best served by a more tolerant and egalitarian model.

Only by awareness of these prejudices, and standing with others against them, do we have any real hope of stopping our race to the bottom.
