Israeli intelligence knew about plans for an operation like the October 7th operation in 2022. In the summer of 2023, Israeli intel analysts noted that those plans had been implemented in war games by the Al Qassam Brigades leading those analysts to conclude something was coming soon. Egyptian intelligence shared similar information with the IDF three weeks before the operation. Was October 7th an intelligence failure? I submit Israeli intelligence, which includes the Mossad, is extraordinarily competent.

700,000 Palestinians were cleansed from Israel proper in 1948.
300,000 Palestinians were cleansed from the occupied territories in 1967.
200,000 Palestinians were apparently cleansed from the Gaza in 2023-24. The 11/23/2024 Economist magazine reports some sources estimate more than 10% of 2M Gazans have fled in this current war.

The IDF is far more adept than Palestinian terrorists at killing civilians. When Israelis drop a 2,000 pounds bomb on a militant, they cannot claim all the civilians killed were collateral damage and not targeted. Terrorists should be shot not bombed. Bombing in this context is a terror weapon. There are homicide bombers on both sides of this conflict.
Per the Palestinian Health Ministry, 47,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza. Israel estimates 17,000 of those killed were Hamas militants which would leave 30,000 civilians killed. There have been 5,373 Israeli civilians killed by Palestinian terrorists, including the 1,200 killed on October 7th 2023, per the Jewishvirtuallibrary.org. Israel's alleged non-terrorists have killed 30,000 Palestinian civilians while Palestinian terrorists have killed 5,373 Israeli civilians. The primary difference between these stats is that the 30,000 were killed over the last 16 months while the 5,373 were killed over 100 years between 1923 and 2023.
