Well, to make an analogy of sorts, If I had to pick between which tooth I wanted extracted and which I wanted to keep in, I have to chose to have the most painful, rotted one, out while keeping the least painful one in. This means Klein will get my vote. West will not.
In the three way race for the Senate, Marco Rubio, the Jeb Bush, handpicked squeeze-the-money-out-of seniors, collect no taxes that will benefit school, parks, recreations, firefighters departments, law enforcement departments and any other needed civic programs, will ever get my vote. Marco Rubio portrays himself as a cool dude interested in the people and their well being. He is a self-serving politician interested in placing well with the Bushes, advancing his career, and furthering the Great American Divide set in motion by the Bush regressive policies.
Charlie Crist, another Jeb Bush supported guy back in the race for Governor of Florida a few years ago, has now found that it is more politically convenient and expedient to distance himself from Bush and the Bush political philosophy which sat him in the Governor's Mansion in Florida back then. he has declared himself an independent who hopes to navigate the best of two worlds, willing to vote, he says, for progressive policies in the democratic party that he believes will benefit the people of Florida, as well as for those regressive (?) ones in the Republican party that he believes, again, will also benefit the people of Florida.
The twain shall never meet and I will never vote for Charlie Crist, or will I?
Kendrick Meek, a lifelong democrat whose mother was an outstanding representative of democratic values for many years for the people of Florida, is way behind Marco Rubio and Charlie Crist. Kendrick has not always been the stalwart defender of democratic principles and values that his mother was but I would still prefer to see him as my Florida Senator over Rubio or Crist. The punditry says that voting for Meek might be like voting for Rubio since Meek is not really a contender at this point. Given the fact that here in Florida the voting machines, the Republicans and the Bush Blue Print for stealing elections will, I believe, do whatever it pleases with my vote, will I, anyhow, give my vote to Meek?
I am in a quandary here. Should I give my vote to the man running for the Florida Senate that my heart believes in the most, or should I heed the punditry who read teal leaves in the polls?
I know that voting with the heart is really where we should all be.
Why are any of us allowing the punditry to sway our votes?
