- Bans are a plus for religious fundamentalists who think tobacco is "sinful". If bars close due to bans, all the better for those who also think alcohol is sinful.
- And bans are a plus for hypocrites galore who may invest in or work for many parts of the cigarette industry, but Feel Good About Themselves as they ban smoking in their homes or feign coughing at smokers on the street as if they've become Clean Air Environmental Activists, or Consumer Activists, or Concerned About Health, Concerned about the Kids, or Concerned About Workers' Health.
It is interesting that much of the Corporatocracy has so far successfully painted itself as if it was about lefty causes. That is, they know what's right, will not do right because profits and growth would suffer, and work overtime to pretend to be right. They know the public would revolt if the truth be known. But, it is troubling that so many fall for their "green" "protect workers" "protect kids", "clean air", etc., rhetoric.
