And finally, the nonsense about Winston Churchill's statue in the White House and the allegation that President Obama had it moved and that somehow constituted his "anti-Britain" history position could only have been dreamed up by a died-in-the-wool ass. Maybe in hindsight you now realize just how stupid and, well, asinine, such a statement was in the context of Britain leaving or staying in the EU, right?
In reciprocal contrast, Boris, maybe you have a bust of Eisenhower on your desk? No? But what the heck does President Obama's removing or not removing Ole Winston's bust have to do with anything? It's not important to the debate on if to stay or leave the EU. Its irrelevant trivia and should have been beneath the Office of the Mayor of London to engage in such pettiness. Indeed, the scale and level of seriousness and careful though that characterized President Obama's appeal to Britain to remain in the EU was in stark contrast to the level of superficiality and sheer foolishness that has come from his detractors, including you Boris.
Boris, let's not prolong this because I'm a bit skeptical about your attention span as I am about your elastic relationship with both principle and truth. So, let me let you go. But before I do, here's what President Obama said about remaining or leaving the European Union -- verbatim.
"I will tell you, with the candor of a friend, that the outcome of your decision is a matter of deep interest to the United States. The tens of thousands of Americans who rest in Europe's cemeteries are a silent testament to just how intertwined our prosperity and security truly are. And the path you choose now will echo in the prospects of today's generation of Americans as well."
Yours truly,
Michael Roberts
