Its time to Update Our View of Israel

Many states develop plans to meet a variety of conflict situations. With her proxies, Iran has attacked Israel twice in three years. The proxies serve provide Iran with a substantial tactical advantage. The Iran regime is little changed since the days of the Shah. Iran remains a Police State, torturing and murdering ordinary citizens. If they can behave this way towards their own people, there is no reason to believe they would be more kind to foreigners.

People continuously liken Israelis to Americans. I cite the state of their oil industry as one huge difference. Israel has a world class reputation in solar generated power. Even I have photovoltaic cells on my roof to heat water. The current rage is the electric car. Israel has several firms with advanced technical development producing marketable electric cars. This is the Israeli form of "aggression." We should all bring our Israel views up to speed.

We Agree that Many Israelis are not Lovable

This is correct. However, there is a quantum difference between being prepared and being militant. From our universal draft, all of our young people are trained to defend the country. This constrains violence-minded leaders from other countries. If they err, about 350,000 armed reservists would descend on them. If an Ahmadinejad-type ordered his troops to fire on Israeli citizens, the soldiers would turn their guns on him. Why do the Jewish Brits and Americans send us so much money? It is to keep us home. We are rude, opinionated, loud-mouthed and politically radical left. BTW, this was why the Europeans took us out of the displaced persons camps and sent us to Israel to begin with.

"We Don't Want Your Money; We Want Your Children."

This raises a critical point. My upstate New York synagogue welcomed a new convert every week if he/she promised to raise their kids in a good Jewish home. 72% of American Jews have non-Jewish spouses. They are a dying community.

We have seen a burst of ads for young Jews to visit Israel and stay. Our basic appeal is sex, which I am told will produce babies to populate the land. Take it from me, great sex with a proper mate beats warfare every time.

Israeli AIPAC members know we lack the social graces, but try to hide this. We make American AIPAC skin crawl.

Welcome to the Discussion

In my experience, the overwhelming majority of common people everywhere prefer peace to war. It is unfair to describe any civilian population as particularly warlike. Circumstances and leaders put the people into harm's way.
