The banks and corporations have also lobbied (bribed) Congress like beggars to hold the middle-class hostage to extending tax cuts for themselves as well, claiming that jobs can't be created if they (the richest 3%) have to pay more income taxes. Yet, they already had those tax breaks for the past two years while Americans continued to lose their jobs, their cars, their homes, and their lives...and all the while our country fell deeper into debt, had record trade deficits, and the rich got richer.
If you're unemployed, ask yourself this: What have the bankers, corporations, and politicians done for you lately? Have they done you more harm or than good? What's in THEIR wallets? What is America today if you have been reduced to a third-world citizen in the wealthiest nation on earth -- when now you're just one of 30-million Americans who have witnessed the demise of their American dream?
