I'll start this article with a personal story. When I was in grade school, perhaps 6th grade, we studied Greek mythology. I never will forget when we talked about the Greek Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom. I automatically said to myself, "Wisdom is a woman because She conceives thought."

Being a shy kid, and also a kid that wasn't of the norm of kids in working class Baltimore, I did not say anything to the teacher regarding my insight. If I did, I fantasized, I would be beat up at the end of the day for asking a dumb question.

At that age I had a natural ability to identify what appeared to most of us as nouns (i.e., Athena as a proper name) as verb (i.e., Wisdom: a power that conceives thought).

What that meant was not only was I weird, but saw everything as more verb than noun. In seeing the verb quality to our sexuality, I naturally saw the Feminine and Masculine as processes that were earth wide and ultimately as universal.

Nowhere did I find this language more pronounced in dreams and mythologies, such as the Bible. (I am not degrading the Bible here, but upgrading mythology, which is humanity's effort to interpret the infinite, eternal unknowable in terms of the human experience, the knowable.)

Thus it was very easy for me to intuitively understand the Way as Tao, the Chinese dance of Yin and Yang (Male and Female), because these were reflective of universal process.

Now, I look at the state of the world and am wondering, "Why are we so alienated?" Easy! It's because we are alienated from ourselves, our Nature.

In a verbal world, what is within is without. For example, your body has atoms flying about in relationship to empty space as stars and galaxies appearing in the nighttime sky. (One physicist said that our body and the universe were 99.999% empty space).
