It's time to re-address this shameful history, and realize that it is not a coincidence that without this pro-slavery bias, we would not be facing a president who sides with Nazis and White Supremacists. Before the presidency of Barack Obama, ourfuture.org held a conference called 'Take Our Country Back.' It referred to the last time the popular vote loser won the presidency: George W. Bush. During the Obama era, the 'take our country back' meme took on racist overtones. Perhaps it's time we take back the expression, to mean the return of Democracy.
