'The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle obtained emails revealing that the New York State Education Department and the New York Board of Regents are considering a plan to oust the elected school board, take over the Rochester public schools, appoint a five-member interim school board, and appoint a temporary school superintendent. Former Ass't Secy of Eduction Ravitch says: 'Those who want state takeovers are deeply suspicious of elected school boards, and have concluded that the path to better schools is through autocracy. I hope the Regents will move carefully before suspending and replacing an elected school board. They better have something more promising for Rochester’s students than a fresh set of unelected faces.'

With 15,880 systems in 50 states, the legislatures , bought by the corporate entities who want to privatize of education, like they did health care, are ending public schools... and guess who has a hand in to?

This new USA Today/Arizona Republic/Center for Public Integrity in-depth investigation is a bombshell report on the thousands of "copy-and-paste bills" introduced and passed in state legislatures which purport to represent local interests but instead further a corporate or industry agenda. Among the goals: passing ESA Vouchers that siphon public funds from public education and redirect them to private, religious and home schooling."

"ALEC and corporate America are churning out legislation that is introduced in your state under false pretenses as "reform." Every one of these bills is meant to protect corporations and profiteers, whether in health care or any other industry."
