MUST READ, the REAITY FOR TEACHERS AROUND THE NATION - a very important court case : In LA, finally, teachers forced to become substitutes, sued and won, because the union did not DO ITS JOB, to ensure the civil rights in the work place. 

In reading this decision regarding UTLA leadership's selling out of displaced teachers whose placement on jobs with LAUSD was used to stop substitutes from getting work and the 100 days of service necessary to qualify for health benefits, one cannot help but wonder if these same practices were not also used to facilitate LAUSD's concerted attack and removal over the last 7 years on thousands of teachers whose only "crime" that led to their firing was that they were at the top of the salary scale with expensive benefits that were putting LAUSD in the red.
