The  demolition  of public schools continues:'Whether it’s parents or teachers doing the talking, it’s time to turn the conversation around and say to our state legislators: “There will be no more closures to our public schools, as soon as you stop the shady attempts to privatize them against the wishes of taxpayers and against the best interest of our most vulnerable students.”  Gay Adelmann, Parent Activist in Jefferson County and Leader of Save Our Schools Kentucky, writes about the hostile actions of the Kentucky Legislature:    Privatization or Potential Punishment: Are Louisville Teachers Being Forced To Choose The Lesser of Two Evils? Don't miss this insight into how our INSTITUTION of public education is being privatized by the power elite.'

I have been saying what I am saying here for over a decade now, but with the state legislatures taking over the 'failing' public schools (which they defunded) I hope that many of you will go to theRavitch blog daily, and the NPE,before it is a fait accompli. Here is a recent NPE post Hijacked by Billionaires: How the Super Rich Buy Elections to Undermine Public Schools - NPE Action

Our democracy depends on shared knowledge , which is why those who are intent on taking over must END public education, and thus, they can dictate a curricula that dumbs people down !

"Think about that, and ask yourself; what better way to end the future then to "GET 'EM YOUNG," and see that they are kept in poverty." Look who is giving history lessons to the kids in North Carolina, the Koch Brothers,

A state that was the envy of the south has new policies!Diane offers all the proof one needs. The corruptionis mindboggling.

Look at Philadelphia! And the Trump Budget Would Cut Education Programs by 10%, While Expanding $$ for Vouchers, Charters

This is so easily accomplished. You see, there are almost SIXTEEN THOUSAND separate school systems in FIFTY states, and most folks I meet do not know what is afoot in the district next door, let alone the schools in their own districts!"

Maligned in the media as 'failing,' so many school systems are ripe for conquering with 'policies' issued by legislatures, with not an educator on board.

In this TRANSFORMATIONAL ERA, "the average American is stressed and busy, and DISTRACTED by SCREENS (and the "Trump Circus") so that they are CONFUSED by the disinformation from the tsunami of 'pundits' and 'talking heads' hired by the lobbyists to push the magic elixirs sold as 'choice'"pushed by the corporate power elite!

And, it works against us that most people do not really know (WLLL) WHAT LEARNING LOOKS LIKE !

Moreover, everyone went to school and thus, everyone knows what schools need to do! A roomful of computers with kids quietly at work, and a pretty bulletin board, and parents do not notice the lack of conversation, or conferences with the teacher, or the absence of bookshelves lined with BOOKS.

All of us who put the TRUTH out there, cannot compete with the DISINFORMATION weaponized by the lobbyists and THE $$$ of the EDUCATIONAL INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX which controls what people know! I mean, look at what is known: A Layman's Guide to the Destroy Public Education Movement!

I highly recommend you follow her site, and talk to her there.Diane Ravitch's blog | A site to discuss better education for all

I have been using information from her site, about the state legislatures which are taking over the local schools, with nary an educator on board, and giving them to charters, with not a shred of oversight! Here is her piece on the A Slick Campaign for Privatization . Here is a link to Diane's posts on charter school corruption . Diane Ravich predicted the current disaster for public education years ago. How Not to Fix Our Public Schools and in her book Reign of Error: The Hoax of the Privatization Movement and the Danger to America's Public Schools
