'Some nonpartisan experts on Iran and on US policy in the Middle East say Iran appears to be pursuing a provocative but calibrated strategy to counter what they  see as a potentially existential American threat — as severe economic sanctions strangle the economy and cut off vital oil revenues — as well as to preserve the nuclear agreement.  Thus, US has closed off other avenues for responding, Iran is falling back on tactics associated with its reputation as a rogue state, including asymmetric military escalation, nuclear blackmail and threatening oil shipments, though Iran denies American accusations that it attacked tankers last week, or the downing of an American drone .'

I didn't vote for Trump. I didn"t vote for Clinton. I will under no circumstances ever vote for a republican. That being said, this evilness of U.S. foreign policy, and donestic policy too, I might add, did not begin with Trump. What would be different for the better for Iran and other U.S. targets if Clinton had won? The author of the article posits in his title that Iran wants the world to reign in Trump. This to me seems to suggest that Iran's and other 3rd world nations'; that don't follow U.S. dictates, problems would be solved. I think that really Iran would prefer that the world reign in the U.S. regardless of who is president.
