1 card #tarot, the tower. Though you may feel shaken or chaotic, you can now see through the illusion. You know the answer.

It's hard to believe it -- in less than a day, we'll be swapping out Presidents.

Not an uncommon occurrence for our system of government, of course. There are winners and losers, and even those who win the White House must eventually surrender it to the people's next choice.

This is, however, a very unusual circumstance. I can't think of another changeover that's produced so much anxiety and fear within the American Left -- and not without good reason.

Obama spoke of the Audacity of Hope, and presented the positive meanings of that word: daring, fearlessness, bravery, courage, and heroism.

Trump promises a different kind of audacity -- defiance, impudence, presumption, and plain old bad manners.

This is not a good time for moderates, leftists, progressives, or radicals. It is going to be a time of uncertainty and change, and from what we've seen thus far a lot of it is not going to be good.

I won't repeat what you already know. The lists of the messed up things that have been said, suggested, or just done are in motion, and the cabinet hearings are fresh in the mind.

At a time like this, we should come together and work on a strategy, or at least decide on a direction to aim for. How do we reclaim what we've lost? How do we fix what's broken?

How do we get by until 2018, or even 2020 -- and what the frak do we do until then?

For those people who've called this site home for as long as I have, all I can say is that whatever happens from here on out? Do not despair. You are not alone.

Though we seem awash in pro-Putin "progressives," "give Trump a chance"rs, mealy-mouthed media-baiters, devilish democrat haters, and people who will believe anyone as long as they tell them what they want to hear? Truth will out. we will prevail.

And we will be stronger for having gone through this gauntlet, together.
