I guess I am an optimist. Or at least I am supposed to be.

I like to see the bright side of the economy and look the other way at my neighbors living on the streets, going to the the food pantry, or not able to find a job.

I am supposed to not notice the economic plight of my neighbors when things are getting so much better.

But I don't know.

It gets hard not to notice sometimes.

Things are really looking up in the economy and it goes against my nature not to keep looking up. All the News people in the media are telling me that we have been in a recovery and the worst is over.

Thankfully the economy is OK.

I just wish things were a little better for people.

I try not to think this way.

I know that in a recovery, things are getting better so I can't allow myself to think about other people. I know the Democrats have been so happy with the recovery and President Obama has been so happy. I just enjoyed watching them smile and congratulate themselves on the Great Economic Recovery.

I know President Obama has been so happy with the recovery that he wants to reward Fed Chairman Bernanke with another term. President Obama rightly sees that we wouldn't have this Great Recovery if it weren't for Ben Bernanke.

But something has happened recently to take the smiles off President Obama and the Democrats faces.

No, it wasn't the nearly 20% unemployment, the record foreclosures, the record homelessness and families on food stamps.

But something happened in Massachusetts.

It's the Economy Stupid--Dems Suddenly Get It! Or So They Say

You see there was this recent election and in this Great Economic Recovery, the Massachusetts voters turned their backs on the Democrats in old Ted Kennedy's former seat and elected a Republican.

Suddenly the Democrats are saying we need to work on the economy.

Surely they must know we are in a Great Recovery.

So if I were the President and the Democrats, I would just keep smiling. Things just seem to keep getting better and better.

Or at least that is what they tell me.
