She was on the air Monday. When I tuned her in on Tuesday, Sam was there with no explanation of where Randi was, and I'm saying to myself...what's going on? The woman is always on vacation.
This morning at the opening of the show he said Rhodes was suspended by Air America for something she said at a nightclub in San Francisco over the weekend.
That was it! He offered no other information, and said we can discuss it if you wish (chuckle, chuckle)... not surprising, there wasn't another word about it.
Management thought she said something "inappropriate" during a nightclub performance...NOT ON THE AIR!
Over reaction on their part!?!
What could she have said? We're now censoring nightclub comics? Where does it end?
If the execs at Air American had one brain to share amongst them, they would have kept quiet.
Nobody except those in attendance would have known, and half of them probably didn't hear what she said over the clinking of glasses.
Anybody know anything? Nothing on Google yet.
Irony: Apparently the suspension does not include her prerecorded commercials.

STATEMENT OF AIR AMERICA RADIO, FROM CHAIR CHARLIE KIREKER
April 3, 2008 New York - Air America has suspended on-air host Randi Rhodes for making inappropriate statements about prominent figures, including Senator Hillary Clinton, at a recent public appearance on behalf of Air America in San Francisco which was sponsored by an Air America affiliate station. "Air America encourages strong opinions about public affairs but does not condone such abusive, ad hominem language by our Hosts," said chair Charlie Kireker.
