On OpEdNews.com, there appear to be coteries of continuous commentators and responders who waste our precious time by making nasty (but usually non-substantive) critiques of those who express their views by writing articles for OpEdNews.com. Often, these comments are made in a rude and crude manner which substitutes contempt for content, and thus inhibits free expression of all viewpoints. Often, these commentators and responders resort to ad hominem attacks which are the last refuge of cyber cowards, as well as the weakest form of logic -- and, from the safety of their computer chairs,engage in cyber-bullying of authors whose articles they dislike, while posing as experts on virtually everything under the sun, and moon, and stars.
Counter-responses merely encourage more rounds of the same, and are thus counter-productive. My advice to new authors of Op Eds is to refrain from battles of wits with those who appear from their comments to be, sadly, among the unarmed.
